4 Jan 2007 - Posted an explanation of what ZOMG means.
19 Dec 2006 - Moved the server to a Linux VPS.
12 Aug 2005 - Transitioned from an aging PowerMac G3 to a brand-new Mac Mini, as the former was experiencing some kind of hardware problem that was causing periodic lock-ups.
17 Oct 2004 - Posted Sixguns & Succubi, another little RPG created for a Pieces & Parts Challenge. Also made extensive but generally invisible changes to the implementation of the underlying CSS on the whole site.
22 June 2004 - Posted the backstory for an Exalted character, Stinky Beak.
16 June 2004 - Updated my Exalted Martial Arts Quick Reference Sheets to include the four new styles from the Player's Guide and the updated terminology formalized therein.
19 February 2004 - Additional changes to CSS. Put up an article explaining a draft-during-play variant of Magic: the Gathering, or any similar game, really...
15 February 2004 - Massive overhaul of the site to use CSS and HTML 4.0, instead of late-nineties standards. User-visible changes should be minimal.
25 August 2003 - Put up my fake iServe page and updated the Site Outline, which had gotten left behind after some recent changes.
26 May 2003 - Added a section on Exalted, the role-playing game.
17 March 2003 - Added a hack to get PNG images working correctly in Internet Explorer for Windows. (They work fine in IE for Mac and every other browser known to humanity, and the PNG standard was set back 1997, so I'm not sure why Microsoft is so incompetent.) Also, put up a rant taken from some old feedback on group work.
9 March 2003 - Put up a rough version of the main menu for my cryptic mythological art project at myth.mapache.org.
20 March 2000 - Added another web badge to my collection.
15 March 2000 - Added a gallery of original Desktop Pictures to beautify your monitor. Also rearranged my graphics into a hierarchy of themes to simplify site maintenance, though this is another one of those back-end things viewers neither know nor care about.
11 March 2000 - Added a version of my Mah Jong Rules designed for easier printing.
29 February 2000 - Added another badge to my collection.
25 February 2000 - Added a page on Life. Also recompiled and optimized my CGIs. They're not particularly faster (not that they took any noticeable time to run before the optimization), but they do take up about 10% as much space as they used to in my directory. (In fact, this second one is really just a back end thing that no should care about.)
13 February 2000 - Added some tiger badges to my design section.
6 January 2000 - Put up some renderings of Bert, the iPenguin, moved some things around, redid my Main and Error pages, and added link pages for games and RPGs.
13 May 1999 - All links to other sites now open in a new window, so you won't lose track of where you were in my site; couple of new quotes as well.
1 May 1999 - Various minor tweaks; nothing major.
2 April 1999 - Optimized my pages for Apache instead of Netscape's Server. Changed from a graphical to a textual hit counter (less obtrusive, loads instantly), and added one to each page, not just the main page. This required changing all my files from .html to .shtml, which has changed all the URLs. I've temporarily put in symbolic links for all the old URLs, but using those will mean that the counter doesn't get processed; my custom error message now redirects people to my main page. Also put up a list of quotes.
22 November 1998 - Made the color of an active link on my pages coordinate with the color scheme of the page it's on.
21 November 1998 - Completely redid my humor section, actually adding some original content.
11 November 1998 - Fixed some typos that had snuck past me on various pages around the site; minor changes on a few pages to correct outdated text and other anachronisms.
11 October 1998 - Set up the design section of my site, made my JavaScripts friendly towards browsers without that capability, and cleaned up a few technical details here and there.
10 October 1998 - Overhauled the bottom of my front page with a bunch of home-cooked badges declaring my allegiances in the SoftWar.
5 October 1998 - Finished setting myself up in my new home on the UT CS server, and added the nonfiction section of my site.
6 September 1998 - Made my e-mail address invisible to search-engine-trawling spam-bots by using a nifty little JavaScript. See here to learn how. (On a side note, if your browser doesn't support JavaScript or if you have it disabled, you can no longer see the mailto address at the bottom of my pages. Tough.)
25 August 1998 - Fixed the outdated link to the Texas State Electronic Poetry Library on my Poetry Page.
16 August 1998 - Added a section on Orbs, a board game I invented, as well as this What's New Page.
15 August 1998 - Brought the X-Space index up to date with the rest of the site.
14 August 1998 - First update in months, total site redesign; moved from a flat to a hierarchial design, tweaked some colors and backgrounds for greater consistency and tastefulness, fixed several typos, added two new poems, Sitting in a Tree in San Antonio and A Poem.
