The irises, lips, and fingernails are all done in various degrees of metallic silver, giving them a nice sheen. This one is actually done on hot press board, which is slicker and shinier than cold press. I found it harder to create texture in areas such as the hair, since the paint was more inclined to slide around. Also, doing washes was much harder, since hot press is much less absorbent, so the diluted paint pools and drys slowly rather than being soaked up; this tends to leave sharp edges if one is not careful.
